French actress Brigitte Bardot, a sex symbol of the ’50s, is selling her holiday house in France for $5.65 million. The 14-bedroom Cote d’Azur villa, just 30 minutes from Cannes, has a vineyard, beautifully landscaped gardens and a pool area. The property used to be the Bardot’s retreat in her early 20s when she divorced her first husband, Roger Vadim.
The stone-built villa, which is divided into two separate buildings, was constructed on a prestigious estate dating back hundreds of years. The residence was completely renovated a few years ago, without losing its French charm. The interiors are amazingly designed. Take a look.
A pool always brings that luxe feel into a residence. This pool is especially luxurious. It’s large and secluded by the tall trees around it. Also, the stone used to build the area gives it a raw, very french look.
The outdoors are elegant and the materials very well chosen: stone walkways converge on a main pavilion with a fireplace and an outdoor kitchen. A pool house, two infinity-edge swimming pools, a wine cave, private cellars, formal gardens, an olive grove and three vineyards fill the remaining grounds.
This stone prestige house has two outbuildings, and not overlooked garden surrounded by walls.
Among features of note are rough-hewn beams, stone and tiled floors, French doors, and period hardwood. A formal living room retains its original Louis XIV fireplace.
In the dining area, the candle chandelier adds a real buzz of romanticism to the environment. We can see that it has exposed wooden beams and plenty of light filtering windows.
The villa has an enchanting feel, Estate agents Fine & Country even describe it as ‘paradise found for the discerning, modern buyer’.
The property is known by its amazing views, and although neighbour homes aren’t too far, they aren’t near enough to take away the privacy of the residence.
Although it has minimalist look, the bedroom of Brigitte Bardot’s vacation home abounds in style and class with a well-matched decor.
