THANK YOU FOR YOUR REQUEST
We will be in touch soon.
Today, you woke up and started think…”What things to do in NYC today will rock my day?” BRABBU has one to share, and goes with living room interior design and handmade rugs! One of the places to go in NYC, isRug Company’s new Manhattan showroom. The old real-estate maxim “Location, location, location” figured in the Rug Company’s recent move to a building half a block down East 59th Street from its previous Manhattan spot. “It was important to stay in the city’s design hub—we’re just steps from the D&D Building,” says the firm’s cofounder Christopher Sharp, referring to the collective of showrooms across the street.
The new space, in a brick-fronted low-rise with a steel-framed glass entry, has a kicky, inviting vibe. Velvet-upholstered vintage and midcentury-inspired furnishings are joined here and there by metallic touches: half-dome fiberglass lamps lined in gold leaf, reception desks embellished with brass studs in a Greek-key motif. The Rug Company will fulfill your living room interior design ideas, using midcentury modern as the main inspiration!
Meanwhile, the vibrant handmade rugs of the brand’s contemporary collection are arrayed on walls as well as floors—from Alexander McQueen’s brilliant butterfly patterns to Diane von Furstenberg’s slinky leopard design to the swirl variations of Paul Smith. “Ultimately it’s about product, service, and convenience,” Sharp says. “We aim to deliver on all three.”
Nothing creates more excitement at The Rug Company’s design studios than the arrival of a wonderful new handmade rugs design. It’s the culmination of a creative process spanning many months and numerous samples in collaboration with some of the world’s greatest designers. This is a selection of Rug Company latest designs, all made with the same natural materials, incredible craftsmanship and attention to detail.
