Patricia Urquiola was born in Oviedo, Spain, and studied architecture and design at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid before graduating from the Politecnico di Milano under the tutelage of Achille Castiglioni. She has worked with a number of well-known interior design and architecture businesses during her career.

Studio Urquiola Philosophy

Patricia Urquiola starts each project by empathizing with the customer who will eventually interact with her designs, a technique she learned from Achille Castiglioni, establishing the “fundamental element,” as he called it, the foundation of each project that always keeps her on track and accompanies her entire design process: thinking spaces or objects in relation to people.

Architexture is a table collection of basic and linear designs inspired by the Italian architectural tradition, but in a highly contemporary form, with marble as the protagonist.

2- Charla

The Charla dining armchair has graceful, flowing lines and an almost wrap-around seat. The chair contains everything needed for the contract and consumer markets and is ideal for a brief break in a hotel lobby or a TV supper in your living room. Charla mixes elegance with long-term viability.

3- Dalya

Dalya is an armchair that blends in with hospitality settings while also fitting in with home living rooms and bedrooms. It’s not your typical armchair. Dalya stands out for its spacious, playful dimensions; the volume of the seat is purposefully enormous to ensure great comfort while toying with the curving backrest.

Dudet is a small architecture defined by three individual padded elements: a seat cushion and two tubes that fluidly design its legs, armrests, and backrest in a continuous line. 5- Getlucky

Getlucky is distinguished by the simplicity of its shapes. Its character is reflected in its basic forms, which were designed for Moroso as a “dining” little armchair.

Lunam is a magical living space furniture set inspired by the ethereal aura of a lunar planet.

7- Lunat

When combined with the Charla armchair, the Lunat desk becomes either a smart home workstation or an elegant hotel room chair and desk combo. Slender powder-coated legs reach all the way up to the bean-shaped top in flamed walnut.

Pacific is the continuation of Urquiola’s collaboration with Moroso on the iconic Redondo collection. The sofa and the armchair represent an intimate seating experience that feels like being wrapped in a protective and relaxing cocoon.
