This renovation opportunity was brought to Centaur Interiors  by nuHaus. Their team identified a need for more visual layers and dimension, which they accomplished through the use of complex finishes while maintaining a clean lined and sophisticated palate. Lighting was extremely critical to compliment all of the details while showcasing amazing views of the city which are central to this design. Several millwork, stone, tile, and metal finishes flow seamlessly into each area which are complimented by the custom finished 7” wide grey oak Boardhouse wood floors.

Based on sharing the same design aesthetic, Centaur Interiors was commissioned by the owners to search for the couple’s new resi­dence in Chicago. This resulted in constructing a ground-up single family home where CI would act as the interior architect and designer to complete the full construction set. CI worked with the developer to execute the design and the client’s vision.

The focal point for this project was to create a unique outdoor oasis the owner could enjoy at many times of the year. This allowed the team to utilize core skills to design, build, and furnish an exterior terrace which we seldom have the opportunity to do in Chicago. A custom outdoor kitchen was created incorporating concealed appliances for entertaining including a five foot integrated Galley work station sink. The design features a floating steel trellis which integrates lighting, heating, water misters, and a motorized retractable awning.  Multiple flooring materials of wood, tile, and turf seamlessly integrate and also incorporate lighting features.

Centaur Interiors capitalized on an amazing opportunity in Chicago’s West Suburbs to create a vision for their client in the 2,500 square foot lower level space of his home. What started as a custom spa rapidly emerged into a complete transformation. Director Mike Miller and his team outstandingly combined these two facets and the result was clean urban sophistication at its finest. Modern clean lines are consistent in each area and an extreme level of detail exists in all aspects of the space.

This high rise condominium residence in the Gold Coast provided a project for the team that required an extraordinary amount of coordination between multiple trades. A magnitude of detail was constructed throughout the unit while maintaining cohesiveness in design, which was created by Larry Booth of Booth Hansen. Lacquer panels and Walnut casework line the walls to the North and West.

Downsizing from a North Shore residence the clients called on Centaur interiors to transform a 3500 s f. condo into a home that fit their lifestyle and personality. There was a great collaboration with the designer, whom Centaur Interiors previously worked with, on the architecture and finishes. Integrating storage was a key focus of this build out. The home features an exceptionally crafted kitchen and butler’s pantry with appliances concealed with custom panels.
