Miaja Gallery (MG), Singapore’s newest art gallery, by Maison Miaja, opened to the public last week with its first exhibition titled “The House That Miaja Built”. Born from a passion for the “unique and distinctive”, Miaja Gallery is the consequence of the natural evolution of Miaja Design Group, a pioneer of stylistic design on the Singapore creative ecosystem for the past 20 years, founded by French designer, Isabelle Miaja.
Now with an Art gallery to add to the House of Miaja – Miaja Gallery (MG), the offer in Singapore for museums of modern art rose! An imaginative space that nurtures the talents of painters, sculptors, installation artists and designers alike in a synergetic approach to curating, bringing together the best artisans from countries that strengthen the cultural link between both Isabelle’s native Europe and her adoptive Asia.

Many design concepts and collaborative works from Maison Miaja and other artists, will eventually be available at MG and the Gallery also hopes to collaborate with local, up-and-coming designers and artists who share their vision. MG also aims to inspire and educate aspiring designers and artists by partnering with local design and art schools to offer their students opportunities to attend free art talks. Other avenues of partnerships will be explored with the islands educational system in the future.
The Miaja Gallery envisions itself to be an integral part of the Art and Design movement in Singapore. By offering an accessible space where different people can enjoy and partake in the creative works of designers, craftsmen and artisans, it is their goal to eventually create opportunities where French and Singaporean artists can freely come up with a unique and fresh collaboration showcasing Art within the every day.
