Colours of the year were recently announced by Pantone, as an expression of positivity and hope towards the chaotic and uncertainty moments we are facing due to the pandemic of Covid-19. The chosen colours were Illuminating and Ultimate Gray.

According to Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Colour Institute, Ultimate Gray and Illuminating, the two colours of the year, come together as an “aspirational pairing”, since people are looking for hope after the tumultuous year of 2020.

Illuminating yellow is a warming colour filled with solar power and vivacity, aiming to evoke an “optimistic promise of a sunshine-filled day”.  On the other hand, Ultimate Grey is a symbol of strength and solidity, remounting to natural elements and encouraging “composure, steadiness and resilience” for the upcoming year.
