The Barcelona EDITION top hotel is going to debut in 2017

The Barcelona EDITION top hotel is going to debut in 2017 | Marriott International, together with Ian Schrager and the owner-developer KKH Property Investors, announced that they’ll open a luxury hotel of the brand EDITION in Barcelona by 2017. This real state property, which already had all the permissions in Barcelona, will be one of the top hotels in Barcelona, a five-star establishment.

The EDITION hotel -which until now was an office building- will have a hundred rooms and is located in the district of Ciutat Vella, right next to the Santa Caterina market; the hotel firm has a long-term agreement to manage the establishment. The project involves a total transformation of this office building to a contemporary, modern, luxury, casual and timeless hotel. This space will include three experiences of different dining options, a club area, and a terrace bar.

This hotel is the first of the EDITION brand in Barcelona and the third in Europe and as the global managing director of EDITION, Dan Flannery says, “EDITION continues to thrive following the recent and iconic openings of London, Miami Beach and New York City, and we couldn’t be more excited about the potential for the brand throughout Europe.”

Ian Schrager -President and CEO of Ian Schrager Company- explained that Barcelona represents a “major cultural center in Europe“, which makes it a perfect location for the new EDITION hotel.

EDITION Hotels are now open in New York, London, Miami and Istanbul. Now it’s gonna be part of the Spain architecture buildings!

There are some more of this luxury hotels planned for the future: Sanya, China (2016), Bangkok (2017), Abu Dhabi (2017), Shanghai (2017), Times Square (2018), West Hollywood (2018), Reykjavik, Iceland (2018), Bali, Indonesia (2018) and Dubai (2019)
