Jun Aoki and Peter Marino were the experts behind the Japanese nautical designed inspired showroom. The building was thought to celebrate Osaka’s sea-faring history with an architecture look-alike white sails, giving the location the look and feel of a traditional Japanese cargo ship.
“This new four-floor store reflects Osaka’s heritage as Japan’s most important port and highlight’s the city’s growing role as an international travel hub,”- Louis Vuitton
At Osaka’s flagship store, costumers will be able to find refined eating experiences from the famous Japanese chef Yosuke Suga in the restaurant Sugalabo V and Le Café V. Both located on the top floor of the store, Louis Vuitton’s goals were to bring a different experience to alure their shoppers from their laptops.
“A restaurant can be a meeting point where you often go and spend time. I guess Osaka is a city important enough, but not vital, where such an experiment can be conducted safely.” – Luca Solca, managing director of luxury goods research at Sanford C. Bernstein Schweiz.
This restaurant will accept a few guests each night, and by invitation only. The restaurant’s reservation page encourages prospective diners to “favourite” the establishment and wait for a notification from the restaurant. Also, it is possible to know that this restaurant private retreat dinner tasting menu begins at 30,000 JPY (approximately $275 USD).
Comparing to the restaurant, here a more casual experience can be found. An airy cocktail bar is complemented by an outdoor terrace, and an oval-shaped “cocoon room”.
