Modern Residential Projects by Jeff Schlarb team have a remarkable reputation for inventive, contemporary concepts and great client relationships, with over 20 years of experience. While working out of their San Francisco studio at 3525 Sacramento St., the company continues to grow. We’re thrilled to announce the inauguration of a second studio at 3524 Sacramento Street, as well as satellite offices in New York and Los Angeles.

Jeff is described as a “Modern Day Maximalist” in a recent 10-page cover article in CA Home + Design, which highlights his exuberant style, which includes daring applications of color, pattern, texture, and art. All of these aspects are used to produce a layered design that is both sophisticated and balanced, classic and modern. Every room becomes a new adventure.

Jeff’s work is dependably expressive and imaginative, and he exemplifies the art-meets-design approach. “Curiosity without the mayhem,” we call it. Our studio, which employs a brilliant team of 16, develops distinctive and unique places that represent our customers’ interests and lives. Our goal is to create settings that not only inspire the soul but also set the tone for healthy living.

1- Fillmore Residence

When a couple decided to redo the interior of their three-story contemporary in the Fillmore, the result reflected their cool, unpretentious aesthetic.
2- Four Seasons – 706 Mission II

The private houses of the Four Seasons feature magnificent, one-of-a-kind grand estate homes. 706 Mission is proudly rising over the city skyline in the middle of San Francisco.

3- Four Seasons – 706 Mission III

The private houses of the Four Seasons offer magnificent one-of-a-kind grand estate homes. 706 Mission stands boldly over the city skyline in the heart of San Francisco.
4- Greenwich Street I

From the design concept to the final touches, a project like this gives our team complete creative freedom. We aimed to create an environment and a way of life that enhances people’s lives.

5- Healdsburg

The use of innovative and cutting-edge finishes, sculptural moments, and meeting our clients’ preferred lifestyles are all essential. We moved this home ahead two and a half decades with our Healdsburg restoration, and it is now ready for metropolitan wine country living.
6- L. Pacific Heights

It’s always a delight to design a getaway for a client. However, creating two homes for a family that stays close is a real treat. We talked about youth, how we wanted to be ageless, how we wanted to be cool, and how we wanted to be classic. Above all, we made sure to incorporate layers and design love.

7- Mill Valley

We had boards labelled Art Squared, Traveler Glory, and The Gallery when we first started developing concepts for this project. Despite the fact that those were all different dreams and motivating concepts, we did them all! Which one do you think it is?
8- Nob Hill

The sophistication of the materials, floor plan, carpentry, and craftsmanship in this Penthouse Residence atop Nob Hill inspired us to dream. When we stroll through cathedrals, museums, and castles, we all get a sense of happiness. The wonder and thrill of the new are what cause that wave of euphoria. It’s the new sensations and butterflies in the stomachs that alert us to the fact that an interior space has a sensation that neither the body nor the intellect has experienced previously. We wanted residents and visitors to be able to wander and wonder; explore an easy intensity in their minds and be in an environment that said, “You’re excited to be home.”
9- Russian Hill

According to a recent feature in Aspire Magazine, this 5-story family house is a study in black and white that “becomes more of a page-turner, thanks to the private-style eye of interior designer Jeff Schlarb.”
10- Sea Cliff III

We came across this midcentury beauty a few years ago and began a seven-month renovation effort. With a few surgical changes to the floor plan and utilization of space, this property feels like it could be home to rock stars, but it’s not.
