West London Penthouse by René Dekker

René Dekker is the founder of René Dekker Design, a leading luxury interior design studio, born out of a philosophy and experience that has spanned 25 years.

René Dekker is the responsible for the stunning design of the West London Penthouse, he was tasked by the client to create a mini ‘boutique hotel’ for the family.

René Dekker had previously worked on this duplex penthouse (14th and 15th floor) in west London when the clients originally purchased the property.

Rooms were individually designed with textures and finishes along with bespoke sofas and rugs to complete the scheme. A full cosmetic refurbishment was completed to include decorations throughout, new lighting, the addition of a guest WC as well as the upgrading of some of the soft furnishings and furniture throughout. The timber decking and surround to Jacuzzi were also upgraded.

Large open rooms are split into more intimate areas and proportions are just perfect – well, the designer does compare his creations to a well-tailored Chanel suit after all.

René Dekker design mantra is an admirable “be bold or go home” – “I always tell anyone who will listen that you should not give a client a scheme that they could have achieved themselves – what is the point of that? Translate what they want into something that will give them complete enjoyment and then add the pizazz!”
