Located in the heart of historic Ciutadella, Can Faustino has a new and appealing design beautifully done by Studio Putman.

Can Faustino is a 16th century palace transformed into a luxury accommodation: a five-star property with splendid views overlooking the city’s historic port. Thoughtfully renovated to retain the property’s original architectural details, the hotel opens onto a grand patio that invites guests to appreciate both the beauty of its exterior and interior spaces.

The interior decoration of the hotel was designed by Olivia Putman in collaboration with Laurent Morel-Ruymen for Mare e Terra. The famed French interior architecture and design firm, Studio Putman, made this beautiful design where classical elegance meets chic contemporary style.

We enter a place as a story: we get used to it, we appropriate it. In the heart of the island of Menorca, protected from the agressions of the modernity and the mass tourism, there is a place overhanging the harbor where stands a palace from the XVIII century. Can Faustino is an invitation to dream and to the peace of mind. Olivia Putman

I wanted to infuse a part of modernity to the sober majesty of the place by adding and opposing materials, colors and shapes in order to reveal its quiet beauty. All is matter of respect and balance. It is very important for me to reach an harmony between a building and its environment. I’ve tried to ad a contemporary breath to a place full of history, stimulated by the challenge to reinvent it. It is this special soul coming from Can Faustino that we have desired to enhance in order to find what is inside us.” Olivia Putman

Studio Putman made sure that the beauty of Can Faustino’s design can be appreciated in every guest room and common space. Also, historic architectural elements are accentuated by a subtle, contemporary design. Each of the hotel’s 21 guest rooms and 3 suites are outfitted with a calming, neutral palette of colors and plush furnishings, providing a sophisticated setting for enjoying views of the harbor, the city, or the hotel garden.
