The American Institute of Architects has selected its top 10 modern house designs of the last year which include a rusting steel residence in rural Washington, a series of musicians’ cottages in Vermont and a student housing tower in Boston.
The AIA’s 2015 Housing Awards recognizes the most outstanding residential projects of the last year, from one-off properties to large-scale complexes and specialist housing, as chosen by a panel of architects and industry figures.
The 10 selected architecture designs also include 27 affordable apartments above restaurants in San Diego, housing for formerly homeless families in San Francisco, and the first “LGBT‐friendly” senior housing project in the eastern United States.
