An amalgamation of Donatella Versace’s vision and the expertise of architect Jamie Fobert, the store is a paragon of the brand’s image. The Ginza boutique encompasses three floors, or about 4,630-square feet, where Versace will sell clothing and accessories for men and women. Details of the shop include a Byzantine marble mosaic floor, curved perspex shelving and partitions for a modern look, brass accents and a staircase with matte and gloss gold-colored walls.

Ornate mosaic floors inspired by 19th century Byzantine churches form circular pathways that lead visitors across the store. The traditional tiling is set against pristine perspex walls and futuristic “floating” shelves. Metallic accents run throughout the interior, emphasising Versace’s signature bold aesthetic. “In fulfilling this project, Jamie Fobert has created a space in which the new Versace spirit can take flight. For me, the boutique suggests an uninterrupted dialogue between our past and our future, between me and Jamie Fobert and obviously between Versace and our clients”, said Donatella Versace.
