Restaurant interior ideas: when you walk through Christopher’s Bar giant from doors, you can see how it has a sumptuous interior design that hark back to a era of glamour and revelry. Founded in 1991 by Christopher Gilmour, this bar and restaurant located in the heart of Convent Garden, London, re-opened in May 2013 after an extensive renovation unveiling the three main spaces: the Martini Bar, Dining Room and Club Room.

De Matos Ryan was the designer behind the renovation and worked closely Christopher’s owners. This interior design firm, known for “delivering good quality contemporary work within historic and often culturally sensitive contexts”, creates simple, imaginative and well detailed modern projects. The lighting plays a big part on the Christopher’s Bar interior design thanks to the unique ceiling and wall lamps.
Christopher’s Bar is now considered to be one of London’s prime American restaurants. “Our Martini Bar recalls the heady glamour of American Deco and is conceived as a theatrical and atmospheric drinking and dining parlour.”, says one of its owners.
Located in a Grade II listed building opposite the Lyceum in the heart of Convent Garden and London’s Theatreland. If you are in London or thinking about visiting the city, don’t forget to pop at Christopher’s Bar and enjoy not only good food but also a great interior design!
