We’re still in the very beginning of 2020 and we already have so many good memorable design events happening! Maison et Objet 2020 was a success! The french design event is one of the most renowned in the entire world, therefore it brought us the opportunity to take a look at some of the best high-end furniture brands, products, and trends.

The same happened with imm Cologne. Even though the event is smaller, it sure was a great opportunity for brands to showcase and present the world with their projects. We bring you the highlights of both events, where the main star was interior design!

The Nilotic pastoralist ethnic group Mursi lives in southwestern Ethiopia, they believe in a higher force coming from the sky, called Tumwi. The Mursi consider clay sacred and powerful, as they still paint their bodies for religious and medical purposes. Combined body painting motifs and animal’s footprints in an abstract pattern created MURSI hand-tufted tencel rug, an earth-to-earth acquisition for the home.

Lapiaz inspired this unique coffee table. The french word is the name given to the typical karst formations produced by surface dissolution of limestone or dolomite rocks. It can also be caused by freezing and thawing in cold climates. This is how Lapiaz luxury coffee table emerged. Maison Valentina at imm Cologne 2020

The Symphony Freestanding draws inspiration from church organ tubes, as well as the curves of a violin. Like all of Maison Valentina’s designs, the Symphony Freestanding is handmade by experienced craftsmen, each with different specialties, from metal-work to wood carving. It features a cluster of polished brass tubes that envelopes an exotic wood structure. Its vessel sink is all made of Nero Marquina Marble with a cogwheel-shaped design.
