We’re still in the very beginning of 2020 and we already have so many good memorable design events happening! Maison et Objet 2020 was a success! The french design event is one of the most renowned in the entire world, therefore it brought us the opportunity to take a look at some of the best high-end furniture brands, products, and trends.
The same happened with imm Cologne. Even though the event is smaller, it sure was a great opportunity for brands to showcase and present the world with their projects. We bring you the highlights of both events, where the main star was interior design!

imm Cologne 2020
The Nilotic pastoralist ethnic group Mursi lives in southwestern Ethiopia, they believe in a higher force coming from the sky, called Tumwi. The Mursi consider clay sacred and powerful, as they still paint their bodies for religious and medical purposes. Combined body painting motifs and animal’s footprints in an abstract pattern created MURSI hand-tufted tencel rug, an earth-to-earth acquisition for the home.
Koi Carp is a recurring symbol of Japanese culture. Its natural colour mutations reveal their capacity to adapt, just like KOI Side Table. With a base in brushed aged brass and a top in marble, this round side table will add refined elegance to any modern interior design.
Metamorphosis is the transformation process from caterpillar to butterfly. It inspired the creation of ESSEX Swivel Chair. Kaamos is the Finnish word for Polar Night, a natural phenomenon that happens in the Arctic Circle. KAAMOS Mirror took inspiration from this incredible event. The Symphony Freestanding draws inspiration from church organ tubes, as well as the curves of a violin. Like all of Maison Valentina’s designs, the Symphony Freestanding is handmade by experienced craftsmen, each with different specialties, from metal-work to wood carving. It features a cluster of polished brass tubes that envelopes an exotic wood structure. Its vessel sink is all made of Nero Marquina Marble with a cogwheel-shaped design.

Dolmens are ancient stone monuments from the Neolithic period. These unique structures were the inspiration behind the ARDARA Console Table. With a finish in gold leaf with a gloss varnish, this console table will give a unique twist to any interior design.
The Lowlands of Scotland are called Lallans, also designating the integration, blending, and the combination of some Scots dialects. LALLAN Rectangular center Table combines four different materials and finishes as pallisander veneer, black lacquer, polished brass and antique brass. All these components cross and integrate harmoniously, despite their asymmetry, to create LALLAN.
Just like the God of the sky and the rising sun, HORUS Glass Suspension Light II promises to be a reference in modern interior design.
