Dedicated to good food, art and music, Sketch was inaugurated in 2002 by the restauranteur Mourad Mazouz and the Michelin starred chef Pierre Gagnaire. It has a few rooms, each with its own interior design that transport you into a completely different universe. Today we’re talking about The Gallery.
India Mahdavi is the designer behind this amazing restaurant interior where vintage meets modern in a feminine style. Mahdavi opened her studio in 1999 in Paris and since then has been creating her signature style, full of curves and playful, captivating interiors. “The location and the space are the starting point to all my projects and each project is like an open question, to which there is a unique answer. Each project tells its own particular story”, says India.
For The Gallery at Sketch, the interior designer “conceived a soothing, monochromatic, strikingly comprehensive interior. The classic, almost bourgeois design invites a deliberately playful contrast with the witty, outré art works”.
The walls of this restaurant are covered with artwork on the subject of life, death and beyond, 239 to be exact, from the celebrated British artist, David Shrigley. This fact makes the restaurant even more interesting and unique where you can go to eat good food and appreciate unique art at the same time.
