Restaurant interior ideas: AMMO is a restaurant and bar in Hong Kong, China, that you will find in a shimmering glass box. It offers Mediterranean-Asian fusion dishes created by the chef and restaurateur Tony Cheng and his mentor chef Roland Schuller. But it is not only the food that makes this place special and unique. It is also its name, the history of its building and the incredible décor that together give this restaurant a very cool ambience to eat and socialize.
“AMMO,” a slang term for ammunition, is also an acronym for Asia, Modern, Museum, and Original, recognizing the restaurant’s Asian roots and identity. It’s also interesting to find out that it was built in a historic building that was once a fortresslike British military explosives magazine. Little things like this make the place a little more special.
AMMO owns its incredible space décor to the interior designer Joyce Wang of Wang, a boutique design practice fresh off its renovation of the historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in LA. With a modern theme, shiny copper piping is threaded through lighting fixtures with a gorgeous copper chandelier in the middle of the room, designed to look like a deconstructed spiral staircase. The luxurious furniture makes a great contrast with the rest of the décor while still keeping the neutral, copper tones.
