Interior Design Styles

Fiona Lynch founded the company in 2013, and her painterly command of colour and texture is evident in all of her residential, commercial, office, hospitality, institutional, and hotel projects. Her inventive uses of space, captivating tonal explorations, and tactile material selections harmoniously combine artistic instinct with considered balance.

The handmade approach of Fiona Lynch Office combines vibrant natural materials and sculptural components. Our unified environments are intuitive reflections on tactility, depth, light, and shadow, balancing raw and refined detail as well as polished and supple. To achieve these unique results, we embrace collaborations with contemporary artists and skilled craftspeople ranging from ceramicists to sculptors and metalworkers, and we regularly exhibit experimental design, artworks, and objects by Australian and international artists and designers in our public gallery adjacent to our ongoing WorkShop series.

1. Interior Design Styles – Ottawa House

Toorak House is a materially rich and sophisticated property of the finest quality, located in an exclusive court off Albany Road. Visitors are directed to the heritage-inspired property by a white-pebbled courtyard bordered with red oak trees, where Fiona Lynch has taken an artistic approach to space arrangement. Sculpted shapes, hand-worked embellishments, and earthy textures are skillfully harmonized, balancing classical and contemporary components with evident aim. The house is big and well-finished.

2. Interior Design Styles – South Yarra House 2

Fiona Lynch used textures and materials to create an interesting and adaptable environment. The custom joinery near the fireplaces exemplifies the concept. The living room has open shelves made of painted wood that is coated in bronze and sits on marble boxes. The dining room joinery has bi-fold doors with a lovely circular solid wood handle design, as well as marble plinths that complement the living room. The end product is a place that represents the client’s sense of humour and complements their unique art collection.

3. Interior Design Styles – St Kilda Apartment

St Kilda Apartment, which overlooks olive green mangroves, evokes a sense of calm and elegance. The remodelling works see the formerly gloomy and oppressive enclave turned into a pleasant and elevated experience, capturing the adventurous attitude of its proprietors. A Labrador-colored handcrafted bamboo silk rug serves as the grounding base for a selected configuration of natural, ink, and green-hued tones, with artefacts of individuality throughout the room.

4. Interior Design Styles – Rose Bay House

Rose Bay House is a celebration of the finer things in life, as well as the conviviality of hosting. The ensuite is designed as a luxurious suite that improves the bathing experience, opening into a wide walk-in robe. A brass-clad wall holds a floating marble vanity and exquisite mirror built by Gio Ponti in 1933, evoking the original home’s decorative period. The ensuite, which is finished with brass fittings and a heritage-inspired bathtub, exudes timeless elegance, while the subtle palette throughout the home is enlivened by natural light, which is tempered by sheer curtains bordering the enormous original windows.

5. Interior Design Styles – Kew House

A blackened steel threshold indicates the transition to the home’s back, which accommodates an open and sun-filled living room. This room is purposefully simple and pure in form and substance, giving a blank canvas to be filled with family life. The kitchen’s heavy island bench is balanced by a delicate, floating benchtop beyond, creating a play on size and mass. An angled smoke mirror backsplash mirrors the action in the adjacent dining room, where an ornate aged brass chandelier hovers above a handmade heart oak dining table.

Fiona Lynch’s use of colour, size, proportion and materials strategically connects the intimate aspects of Malvern East’s original character home with its wide back expansion. 7. Interior Design Styles – Elsternwick House

Fiona Lynch adopted an evolutionary approach from room to room since the customer encouraged our colour research. The lounge’s soft, earthy clay blends into the neighbouring study’s reddish-brown, leading to a dining room swathed in startling blue.
The meticulous selection of furnishings and art was critical in preparing the home for its modern chapter. We created a distinct narrative for each space, from the sculptural Serge Mouille chandeliers in the bedroom and lounge to the sophisticated Pietro Russo dining table and beautiful Charlotte Perriand chairs, since the client was enthusiastic about knowing the history of each piece.

8. Interior Design Styles – South Yarra House 1

The owners of this magnificent Victorian terrace approached Fiona Lynch with the problem of reframing a restricted space defined by a column next to the kitchen.
Due to its small size, the area was frequently underutilized; nevertheless, following consultation, Fiona offered a calm hideaway away from the hustle and bustle of the family home. Sheer curtains offer a sense of solitude while delineating zones. Custom joinery provides structure and helps to make the most of a small space. The project was completed by the furniture choices, which included textured linens in soft greys and pastel pinks — the finishing touch for a relaxing and quiet retreat.

9. Interior Design Styles – Albert Park House

The formerly fragmented three-level Victorian Terrace and its back expansion were meticulously redesigned in conjunction with architect Zoe Geyer to provide a stronger sense of clarity and purpose. Each unique joinery component has been handled as a sophisticated furniture piece, rather than standard ‘built-in’ solutions. Cabinetry is raised on substantial plinths and set off the walls to give each item, notably the monolithic island bench at the centre of the home, presence and regard.
