Founded in 1998 by Jan Dinnebier, Studio Dinnebier operates under the brand name LICHT LICHT with a team of architects, lighting, and product designers. They consider light as an important part of architecture, therefore creating a conceptual relationship between light and space is one of their main goals. Explore some of their projects here!

Radisson Iveria Hotel

Transformed by Graft Architekten into a 5-star hotel, the Radisson Iveria Hotel has a new lighting design by Studio Dinnebier. Recessed luminaires have been used and site-specific lighting installations developed together with the architectural team.

Dogan Media Center

For Turkey’s largest media corporation the Dogan Media Group, the lighting design concept was linear light fittings toward the concrete ceiling with a reflected light that enters the interior through a perforated wooden ceiling. In addition to that adjustable spots, lights are used for general and accentual lighting.

Zepellin University Campus

The lighting design for the Zepellin University Campus focuses on simplicity. The seminar rooms, offices, and circulation areas are illuminated by industrial linear luminaries. Corridors and staircases in the raw finished old building are illuminated with long lines of light which are supporting the powerful color concept of the artist Harald F. Müller.

Beyazit State Library

Renovated by Tabanlioglu Architects, the Beyazit State Library is highlighted by the large domes with indirect illumination. Ring-shaped pendants with a dynamic suspension were constructed for this purpose and hung from the center of the domes. The new floor and the shelf installations are articulated by lighting coves. Pendants and luminaries with direct-indirect components were installed in the patio and were mounted to the historical steel braces.

Milchkuranstalt

Refurbished and converted into an office space by the architects of Karsten Groot Architekten, the Milchkuranstalt has a staircase illuminated by a cloud of freely positioned glass-wall lights that support the sweep of the newly designed freestanding stair and create a decorative lightness in the space. The brick ceiling vaults are illuminated in order to create soft and comforting general lighting for the space of diverse usage.

Lichtfeld Senate Chancellery

For the Lichtfeld Senate Chancellery, Studio Dinnebier used a wide range of luminaire types, enabling a variety of possible lighting situations such as festive lighting as well as lighting for conferences and seminars. 

Palace of Peace

The light planning of the Palace of Peace included all representative areas: the foyer, the opera, the atrium, the plenary hall, and the exterior of the building. For the ring-shaped plenary hall, the studio designed a ring-shaped candelabrum where lighting and technical devices were stored.

Sukkah Jewish Museum

Studio Dinnebier worked with Matthias Reese at Reese Architekten to complete the Sukkah Jewish Museum project. The new building is inspired by the Sukkah huts that are used for gatherings during the Jewish festival of Sukkot. 

Main Forte Trumpf

Barkow Leibinger architects designed a new gatehouse that visualizes the metalworking technology of the Trumpf company to the outside. The 32-meter-long slender roof over the entrance astonishes everyone with its laser-cut aluminum bottom and the greenish backlighting emphasizes the lightness of the roof.

Fehrbelliner Platz

Fehrbelliner Platz 2 is one of the few preserved Berlin buildings from the early 1930s. The hall has a strong character expressed by its red granite cladding of the walls and round glass elevator with historic cylinder lights that Studio Dinnebier retro-fitted by using a HIT TC 35-W lamp in combination with a lens.
