Bazaar Mar is a 7,200-square-foot new restaurant<\/strong><\/em> just south of the Miami River in Arquitectonica\u2019s newly built SLS Brickell tower. Led by chef Jos\u00e9 Andr\u00e9s, James Beard Award winner and pioneer of molecular gastronomy, the new restaurant counts with the amazing interiors<\/strong><\/em> designed by Philippe Starck<\/strong><\/em>, who chose to craft a nautical dream world with mythical sea beasts, picturesque coastal vignettes, and a characteristic white and blue colour palette<\/strong><\/em>. The space features decor<\/strong><\/em> inspired by famous sea ports from Mykonos to the South Pacific. Take a look and see what Philippe Starck prepared in his newest project.<\/p>\n

Bazaar Mar offers a vibrant mix of sophisticated cuisine, playful indoor and outdoor lounge spaces that evoke the bounty of the oceans with a seasonal emphasis on Miami and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n

The restaurant is composed of two dining rooms and a bar connected with over 6,000 hand-painted tiles featuring the drawings of artist Sergio Mora and manufactured in Spain by Cer\u00e1mica Art\u00edstica San Gin\u00e9s. The tiles completely cover the walls and ceiling, painted in a Delft Blue pastiche that is typical of 16th-century Dutch pottery. The murals are ornamented with gilded crustaceans and cabaret-style mermaids that dissolve the otherwise solid walls into surrealist other worlds.<\/p>\n

For this restaurant in Miami, the french designer assured that the furnishings are varied, including smooth marble-topped tables, upholstered love seats, and stark white wooden chairs, creating a visually heterogeneous atmosphere against which the maritime fantasy emerges.<\/p>\n

The bright dining room is contrasted with a detached cocktail bar finished in black and gold tiles of the same stylised motif. The total effect of Philippe Starck\u2019s design fittingly underscores Andr\u00e9s seafood-centric menu and draws from the aura of Miami\u2019s burgeoning art scene.<\/p>\n
