Hilary Swank<\/strong> <\/em>has recently purchased an apartment in a historic building on the Left Bank, in Paris. The home interiors<\/strong><\/em> have a style that goes from traditional charm to contemporary, resulting in an elegant design. Swank, who also has homes in Los Angeles and New York, proudly shared some images of the house, decorated with the finest materials. With its soaring ceilings, polished herringbone floors, intricate moldings, marble fireplaces, and large windows, the apartment has the beautiful bones and soft filtered light that defines the french capital. The city of Paris swept off Hilary Swank\u2019s feet: The beauty of the city, its light, and its architecture look amazing to Hilary. In the words of the actress, \u201cI fell in love with Paris. It\u2019s more beauty than your eyes can even imagine, every which way you look.\u201d So, she decided to buy herself a Paris apartment.<\/p>\n

In order to fully transform the apartment into her own home, Swank turned to Axel Huynh, creative director of the 150-year-old French furniture company Henryot & Cie. Initially, Huynh was to design a piece of furniture for the home, but quickly his role morphed into that of an interior designer. \u201cHe has this joie de vivre that I instantly gravitated toward,\u201d says Swank. Naturally, Huynh channeled that exuberance into a collection of custom, handcrafted pieces by Henryot & Cie that echo the stateliness of the home\u2019s architecture and surroundings.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a sense of midcentury flair and modern edge throughout the apartment. Retro daybeds with sleek, geometric profiles punctuate the living space, and in the dining room, the legs of cane-back round side chairs are sheathed in a blue lacquer.<\/p>\n

But if the rest of the home decor is meant to catch the eye, Swank\u2019s bedroom is a study in restraint. A photograph by Javier Gomez and a cadre of butterflies are the sole moments of color amid the room\u2019s exquisite couture-level details, including custom-made linens, a headboard based on a model Henryot & Cie created for the Ritz Hotel, and curtains trimmed in supple grosgrain ribbons.<\/p>\n

The overall design of Hilary\u2019s Paris home shows what\u2019s most important to her: a comfortable, cozy space above all. \u201cWe wanted to create something really lively and fun yet where you could instantly feel at home,\u201d says Huynh.<\/p>\n
