One of the biggest and youngest\u00a0design talents, Kelly Wearstler recently lauched her new interior lighting collection<\/a>, which was also her debut in the interior lighting design.<\/p>\n

Given designer Kelly Wearstler\u2019s prodigious output\u2014she\u2019s already tackled furniture, fashion, fabrics, carpets, jewelry, dinnerware, even chocolate\u2014it seems almost strange that she had never done a lighting collection. In her typically knockout style, she\u2019s now filled that gap in her r\u00e9sum\u00e9 with an extensive, eye-catching line for Visual Comfort, featuring ceiling fixtures, sconces, and floor and table lamps.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve always done custom lighting for my interiors projects,\u201d says Wearstler, \u201cand I felt the time was right to translate some of those ideas as well as experiment with a few things that are completely new.\u201d<\/p>\n

The comprehensive collection, launching in June, ranges from Art Deco to midcentury French to pop to California cool, all unified by beautifully articulated details, artisanal finishes, and a materials palette heavy on alabaster, bronze, and brass.<\/p>\n

Fans will recognize reinterpretations of Wearstler\u2019s high-profile public commissions\u2014the Strada series, for instance, takes its cue from the sunburst chandeliers at BG, the debonair restaurant she outfitted for Bergdorf Goodman. \u201cThe line goes in a lot of directions, but it\u2019s not too schizophrenic,\u201d Wearstler says. \u201cIt\u2019s more like a picture of all the things that inspire me.\u201d<\/p>\n
