The event that explores the whole universe of fashion and the house is more than a trade show. Maison et Objet<\/strong><\/a> is the focal point of every professional of design, fashion, objects, house and art, and explores each style and the decorative universe. Perfect to make changes, renew ideas, or just to inspire, Maison et Objet Paris<\/strong><\/a> is a truly reference for decoration, design trends, concepts and new talents too. Here, we show you the six rising talents of Maison et Objet 2017<\/strong><\/a> from United Kingdom.<\/p>\n

Design is increasingly recognized for its power in the world, and the United Kingdom in particular has the largest sector in Europe and the second largest in the world. This means that are very talent in the UK and a global demand for british design. Let\u00b4s present you the six rising talents from the UK nominated by six renowned designers.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Ilse Crawford\u2019s nominee: Marcin Rusak<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Marcin Rusak\u00a0 were born in Warsaw, Poland, in 1987 and situates his work at the intersection of value, ephemerality and aesthetics. He studied at BA in European Studies from University of Warsaw and art programmes at Design Academy Eindhoven, London Royal College of Arts. The creation work of Rusak begs questions, references history and proposes possible future scenarios. He was first trained at the Design Academy Eindhoven (DAE), where the designer Ilse Crawford founded the \u00abMan and Well-Being\u00bb department. His sense of poetry and the deep knowledge of materials and processes that permeate Marcin Rusak\u2019s lamps and objects made Maison&Objet designer of the year 2016 nomenated him as Rising Talent.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

-Sir Paul Smith\u2019s nominee: John Booth<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Started to want to be a textile designer, John Booth was studying Fashion Print at Central St Martins. However, he has since been designing textile prints for Zandra Rhodes, John Galliano, Ashish or Christopher Shannon, and illustrating Menswear collections during Fashion Weeks. Even, one of the highlights of last Milan Fashion Week, Fendi Menswear collection for Spring\/Summer 201, John Booth\u00b4s coloured characters were all over the pieces designed by Karl Lagerfeld & Silvia Venturini. His work is essentially<\/span><\/span> his practice encompasses collage, experimentation with line, embroidery and textile manipulation.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Ross Lovegrove\u2019s nominee: Giles Miller<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Gilles Miller studied for his BA course in design, and is recognized by\u00a0 his visionary use of surface materials, from British Airways, Publicis, Selfridges, Ritz-Carlton Hotels to Hermes, Piper-Heidsieck Champagne and the London Design Museum. He specialized in the development of surfaces after collaborating with the fashion designer Stella McCartney. Recently Miller presented \u201cBillboards\u201d for Clerkenwell Design Week 2016, in London and with Ross Lovegrove, his Rising Talent Awards mentor, Giles Miller shares a taste for \u201can organic aesthetic and the composition of Nature as a starting point for our work.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2013 Jay Osgerby\u2019s nominee: Sebastian Cox<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Sebastian Cox studied Furniture at Lincoln University, followed by an MA in Design.\u00a0 Due to this, designing and making are the two faces of the trade of him. He founded his workshop and studio in 2010, convinced that the past can be used to design and make the future. Using traditional techniques, incorporating a contemporary aesthetic appealing to modern homes, Sebastian Cox has led him to collaborate with other material experts, various brands and interior designers, manufacturers and retailers. Because of that, he is rising talent of maison objet 2017<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Nigel Coates\u2019 nominee: Studio Swine<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

Japanese architect Azusa Murakami and British artist Alexander Groves make part of the Studio Swine. The strange name Swine stands for Super, and Wide Interdisciplinary New Explorers. They defensors of materials, travelling the world and they have a particular vision for design. They consider design \u201can agent for change, willing to change the perception of materials by turning waste into luxury\u201d. The work of Azusa Murakami and Alexander Groves explores art, design and film and the work of the studio as been exhibited in prestigious institutions like the Victoria&Albert Museum in London, the New York Museum of Art and Design, the Venice Art Biennale and has been acquired by Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. Also, the studio swine films have been awarded at Cannes and other festivals.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Tom Dixon\u2019s nominee: Zuza Mengham<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

Zuza Mengham degreed in sculpture at Wimbledon College of Art in 2008, and she spent three years<\/p>\n

\u201cpretty much constantly in the metal workshop making large steel sculptures\u201d. After that, Mengham worked as a technician for various artists and galleries for the last eight years. Her work is about sculptural objects and installations and she defines her work not as a designer or as an artist, but for her \u201cinterest in making spaces out of sculptures or making sculptures that hint towards function\u201d. Over the years, she was drawn to metal and resin, and her sculptures with this material is the point of catalysis. She, like the other designers is a rising talent from Maison Object<\/strong> this year in Paris.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
