In order to tell the story of the Claridge\u2019s Christmas Tree 2016,<\/strong><\/em> is necessary to go back in time. Seven years ago a tradition was born, Claridge\u2019s<\/a><\/strong>, one of UK top hotels<\/strong>, invites a guest to reinterpret the Christmas tree\u00a0symbolizing the start of the festive season in London. The hotel\u2019s christmas tree captures the spirit and admiration of visitors and locals alike since 2009.<\/p>\n

\"CLARIDGE'S<\/p>\n

The creation of the Claridge\u2019s Christmas Tree 2016<\/strong> continues a theme of collaborating between Sir Jony Ive<\/strong>, Chief Design Officer at Apple, and Marc Newson<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0one of the world\u2019s most influential industrial designers.<\/p>\n

\"CLARIDGE'S<\/p>\n

For the 2016 edition,\u00a0the high-profile designers and british set designer Michael Howells\u00a0<\/strong>have gone one step further, crafting an immersive festive installation as well, creating an unique hotel design<\/strong> experience! The result speaks for itself, as the festive installation\u2019s backdrop, the four-meter high light boxes which glow with black and white photographic images of snow covered silver trees, are set on a pure, white floor.<\/p>\n

\"CLARIDGE'S<\/p>\n

In front of this, models of scots pine grow amongst further layers of both natural and photographic silver birch and fir trees.<\/p>\n

The hotel design<\/strong>\u00a0installation\u2019s lighting is on a continuous cycle, mimicking sunrise to sunset. A\u00a0young three-feet high tree grows amongst the forest as a symbol of the future. The surrounding nature rises up to a canopy of natural green pine, immersing guests into a marvelous natural, yet modern, Christmas setting.<\/p>\n

The Claridge\u2019s Christmas Tree 2016<\/strong> creation is a celebration to the nature pureness, layering various iterations of organic forms with technology.\u00a0Sir Jony Ive<\/strong> and\u00a0Marc Newson, <\/strong>the magical pair, embodied an enormous respect for tradition while recognizing the excitement about the future and things to come.<\/p>\n
