During\u00a0years the design in Germany is synonymous of\u00a0quality and industrial precision, paying little attention to the decor. A new generation is now trying to create tradition that leaves functionality in the back stage.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The art school of Bauhaus* that changed the world of design combining\u00a0crafts and the fine arts, is now considered as not enough to fulfill the costumers wished in interior design market.<\/p>\n

What is Bauhaus?<\/strong><\/p>\n

*Staatliches Bauhaus<\/b>, commonly known simply as Bauhaus<\/b>, was an art school in Germany that combined crafts and the fine arts, and was famous for the approach to design that it publicized and taught. It operated from 1919 to 1933. At that time, the German term \u00a0\u201cbauhaus\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/i>\u2014literally \u201cconstruction house\u201d\u2014was understood as meaning \u201cSchool of Building\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Bauhaus was first founded by Walter Gropius in Weimar. In spite of its name and the fact that its founder was an architect, the Bauhaus, during the first years of existence, did not have an architecture department. Nonetheless, it was founded with the idea of creating a \u201ctotal\u201d work of art (Gesamtkunstwerk)\u00a0in which all arts, including architecture, would eventually be brought together. The Bauhaus style later became one of the most influential currents in modern design, Modernist architecture and art, design and architectural education.\u00a0The Bauhaus had a profound influence upon subsequent developments in art, architecture, graphic design, interior design,\u00a0industrial design, and typography.<\/p>\n
