CLARIDGE\u2019S has revealed that Burberry<\/a><\/strong>\u2018s chief executive officer and designer,\u00a0Christopher Bailey<\/em><\/strong>, will be responsible for the design of its famous Christmas<\/a><\/strong> tree<\/a><\/strong> this year. Christopher Bailey follows in the footsteps of Dolce & Gabbana<\/strong>, who decorated the tree for two years, previous to which John Galliano and Lanvin\u2019s Alber Elbaz were selected for the honour.<\/p>\n

\u201cChristmas is one of my favourite times of year so I was delighted to be asked to design the Claridge\u2019s Christmas Tree \u2013 the iconic hotel celebrating a joyful time,\u201d said Bailey this morning, as it was revealed that the tree will explore the relationship between light and dark and comprise more than 100 umbrellas, each of which will be finished in gold and silver metallic fabric.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wanted the tree to reflect the playfulness of the season with a little bit of the English weather thrown in. We\u00a0also love the idea that the tree comes to life as guests pass by, bringing a wonderful touch of festive magic to their stay.\u201d<\/p>\n

Burberry has a long-standing relationship with the famous Mayfair residence.\u00a0The hotel\u2019s suites famously come complete with Burberry trench coats for guests to wrap up in and head out to see the lights of London.
