Renowned designer Luca Nichetto <\/a>has joined forces with the team at Hem to launch the Alphabeta Pendant lamps. The new line is a result of Nichetto\u2019s ambition to create an alphabet of different shades combined with Hem\u2019s quality build and materials. Alphabeta shades come in eight\u00a0different shapes, each with its\u00a0own colour aside from the standard black and white. The pendants use a top and bottom shade around a single heart piece for bi-directional lighting\u00a0\u2014 and with over 24 available shapes per lamp, Alphabeta boasts over 10 billion combinations when combined with four pendants.<\/p>\n

The new fixtures are brought to life at the \u201cTen Designers in the West Wing\u201d exhibition ongoing from\u00a0September 21 to 27\u00a0in London\u2019s Somerset house. Alongside the lighting is also\u00a0a grand piano connected to 44 of the Alphabeta lamps.\u00a0All of this coincides with the start of the London Design Festival 2015,\u00a0where Hem will open its\u00a0first physical retail space with a pop-up shop in Seven Dials.<\/p>\n

The Hem collection consists of both a diverse range of high quality in stock furniture, design accents, lighting, as well as fully customisable options for many products.<\/p>\n

The shades come in eight different shapes of interchangeable top and bottom shades, available in a range of hues, as well as in black and in white.<\/p>\n

This creates a total of 24 available shades, which allow for a vast number\u00a0of possible combinations when displayed in groups \u2013 like letters in the alphabet.<\/p>\n
