London Fashion Week<\/a><\/strong>, London Design Festival<\/a><\/strong> and Decorex London 2015<\/a><\/strong>\u2026The design industry in particular, is in a really interesting place right now, \u00a0and for this London Design Festival 2015, there are a number of really fresh projects that go far beyond the usual realm.\u00a0Having furniture design<\/a><\/strong>, as the core subject\u00a0of the festival, BRABBU<\/strong> <\/a>show you the first preview of London Design Festival 2015!<\/p>\n

Somerset House
\n<\/a><\/strong>Somerset House, Strand, WC2R 1LA<\/em><\/p>\n

The recently renovated West Wing is to be given over to 10 well-established designers to (for once) exhibit their works under their own names, rather than the usual brand-dominated format. Those participating include Alex Rasmussen, Barber Osgerby, Faye Toogood, Luca Nichetto, nendo, Patternity, and Ross Lovegrove. Tino Schaedler of Optimist Design is over from LA to create the first virtual reality experience at the Festival.<\/p>\n

Willer Gallery
\n<\/a><\/strong>Willer, 12-14 Holland Street, W8 4LT<\/em>
\n<\/a><\/strong>
\nThe London gallery is launching a new collection of 13 pieces by American artist and designer Ty Best, under the name CASTE. Best has worked with Montana artisans to create gorgeous natural forms in a palette of organic materials, including marble, bronze, leather and wood.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Mallett, Ely House, 37 Dover Street, W1S 4NJ<\/em>
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

The English antiques gallery Mallett celebrates its 150th anniversary by taking residence at Ely House, formerly a palace for the Bishops of Ely. Design House fuses 18th-century craftsmanship techniques with 21st-century design: contemporary designers TANE, Pomellato and Calico Wallpaper will launch their newest collections.<\/p>\n

Pinch
\n<\/strong>First Floor, Rochelle School, Arnold Circus, E2 7ES<\/em>

At the charming Rochelle School in Arnold Circus, Pinch will launch their latest product, Nim, a new limited-edition table made from Jesmonite and individually hand-painted. The table, Pinch promises, is an exploration of texture and form, referencing lava strata, stone and weather.<\/p>\n

Ace Hotel

\nThe Shoreditch hotel has paired up with Laura Houseley (Modern Design Review<\/em>) to commission a series of objects titled Ready Made Go from established and up-and-coming designers including Philippe Malouin, Studio Vit, Hilda Hellstr\u00f6m, Tom\u00e1s Alonso, Marcin Rusak and Parsha Gerayesh. From door handles to jewellery, many pieces will be available to buy.<\/p>\n

Lee Broom\u2019s Flower Shop

\nIn Milan he created his own department store, and this September the British designer is turning his Shoreditch flagship into a florist to launch Podium, his debutcollection of vases.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Caesarstone stole the show in Milan earlier in the year, and are back in London this time with \u201cThirty Four Project\u201d<\/em>, in collaboration with\u00a0Rona Meyuchas-Koblenz\u00a0of kukka at Tent London. The installation will feature surfaces and tables inspired by Caesarstone\u2019s Supernatural Series.<\/p>\n

Multiplex
\n<\/a><\/strong>Old Selfridges Hotel, 1 Orchard Street, SW1Y 5AH<\/em>

\nIn the heart of the West End, Tom Dixon is joining forces with Wallpaper<\/em>* at the Old Selfridges Hotel to create an immersive, multi-sensory department store of tomorrow. The month-long event aims to explore how the future of retail might look, sound, smell, taste and feel and will host an eclectic range of pop-ups and interventions that blur the boundaries between designers, artists, manufacturers, retailers, performers and customers.<\/p>\n
