back the Tokyo Olympic stadium project after its first competition-winning design was thrown out in July.<\/p>\n<p>Nikken Sekkei has announced that it will work with Zaha Hadid Architects to submit a fresh bid for the New National Stadium for Japan.<\/p>\n<p><a 655px) 100vw, 655px\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A new design and build competition for the stadium \u2013 set to host events during the 2020 Olympic games \u2013 was launched on 1 September 2015, with a much shorter design and construction schedule.<\/p>\n<p>Revised guidelines will cap the cost at \u00a5155 billion (\u00a3850 million) \u2013 a significant reduction compared to the \u00a5250 billion (\u00a31.37 billion) estimate for Hadid\u2019s initial design, which was scrapped by Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe due to soaring costs and growing public dissatisfaction.<\/p>\n<p><a 655px) 100vw, 655px\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The number of seats has been cut back from 72,000 to 68,000, with the option for an additional 12,000 to be added later in case Japan wishes to bid to host the football world cup.<\/p>\n<p><a alongside Hadid\u2019s practice.<\/p>\n<p><a
