The Victoria & Albert Museum will open its doors around the clock for the final two weekends of its most-paid for art gallery exhibition in a decade.<\/p>\n

Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty has attracted over 345,000 visitors since it arrived at the V&A on 14 March. There\u2019s only one month to go until the largest retrospective of the late fashion designer\u2019s work closes and all pre-bookable tickets are sold out. The museum\u2019s response? To open through the night.<\/p>\n

For the first time in the V&A\u2019s history, tickets will be available at all hours during the final two weekends of Savage Beauty\u2018s run on 24 \u2013 26 July and 31 July \u2013 2 August. The museum will also be offering extra perks for those who are willing to endure a late night, including in-store promotions in the exhibition shop and a bar serving refreshments to keep bleary-eyed visitors going.<\/p>\n

Martin Roth, director of the V&A, explained the reason behind the museum\u2019s new opening hours. \u201cIt is not going on tour to other venues so our aim is to provide as many people as possible with the opportunity to see it by opening through the night for the last two weekends,\u201d he said. \u201cThis will be the first time we have opened the V&A around the clock and we certainly think it is an event worth getting out of bed for.\u201d<\/p>\n
