The annual AD 100\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>list, was released and it comes with news! The big expectation of the year by the hand of\u00a0Arquitectural Digest,<\/strong>\u00a0celebrates the 100 Top names in the interior design<\/strong> and\u00a0architecture\u00a0<\/strong>field and is organized in an ambiguous way. This year, 2017 AD\u00a0list <\/strong>is organized by categories, from the Devildares\u00a0to the American Beauties or even the Hitmakers, talent is the unifying element among such renowed interior designers<\/strong> and architects.<\/p>\n

Featured on the 2017\u00a0<\/strong>AD 100<\/strong><\/em> list of the world\u2019s renowed\u00a0names in the interior design <\/strong>and architecture\u00a0<\/strong>industry,\u00a0<\/strong>Jan Showers has been designing interiors for over 25 years. In 1996 she opened her showroom in the Dallas Design District, presenting a collection that reflected her design philosophy. Showers also designs a custom furniture line that you must see.<\/p>\n

Jan Showers came to her signature style from diverse and unexpected inspirations, including movies and novels, contemporary and vintage fashion, art, architecture, fine antiques, and vintage pieces. Filtered through her unique sensibility, the culmination of these influences is usually summarized simply as \u201cglamour.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s fitting then that Jan has written two books on the subject: Glamorous Rooms<\/em> and her follow-up, Glamorous Retreats<\/em>, both published by Abrams. Together, her books display a cross section of the styles and decorative preferences that have made Jan and her firm one of the most important in the country.<\/p>\n

Over the course of her career\u2014spanning three decades\u2014she has received many of the profession\u2019s highest honors. Her magazine credits alone place her in the highest echelon of designers. They include Architectural Digest, Elle D\u00e9cor<\/em>, Veranda<\/em>, where she appeared in their \u201cBest of the Best\u201d issue, House Beautiful<\/em>, InStyle Home<\/em>, Traditional Home, British Home and Garden, Harper\u2019s Bazaar, <\/em>and Luxe<\/em>, which included her on their \u201cGold List.\u201d<\/p>\n

Architectural Digest<\/em> has named Jan Showers & Associates to the AD100, its preeminent directory to the international world of design for several times.<\/p>\n

Jan\u2019s furniture and lighting collection\u2014first created almost 20 years ago\u2014is available at showrooms throughout the U.S. She has also created a complete lifestyle collection for KravetCouture, a line that includes fabrics, wall coverings, rugs, furniture, and lighting, to be introduced in 2016.\u00a0 Showers has also designed an outdoor furniture collection for Michael Taylor Designs, also to be premiered in 2016, along with a hand-knotted rug series for Moattar, Inc. and a cowhide rug collection for Kyle Bunting.<\/p>\n

She travels internationally annually\u2014often multiple times a year\u2014in search of antiques she imports both for her Dallas showroom and for the specific needs of her clients.<\/p>\n

Reared in small town Texas, Jan possesses a rare fusion of sophistication and warmth, poise and a good sense of humor. When asked why she\u2019s so good at what she does, her reply is always that she truly loves her work.<\/p>\n
