Maison et Objet Paris<\/strong><\/a> is only a couple of months away. As one of the biggest trade shows, famous around the world, it presents the latest trends, inspiring experiences and top brands in the city of light. Every year, M&O Paris<\/strong><\/a> also selects a couple of names to be featured as Designer of the Year. A product design-oriented profile in January and a interior architecture-oriented profile in September. For January 2017, Pierre Charpin<\/strong><\/em> was the chosen one. The French designer, artist and scenographer creates a \u201cpoetic form of minimalism\u201d. Take a look at his best work!<\/p>\n

Six years after graduating\u00a0from Bourges art school in 1984, the designer began to focus on furniture and objects.

Charpin then worked in\u00a0the studio of British designer George Sowden before\u00a0returning to Paris, where he won a\u00a0\u2018carte blanche\u2019 at the\u00a0Valorisation de l\u2019Innovation dans l\u2019ameublement.

The designer had his first solo exhibition at the Galerie Perkal in 1990 where he presented a\u00a0research into the possibility of \u201canthropomorphic\u201d furniture and a series of silver tableware objects.

Charpin is not only a designer by has also acted as the scenographer of his own exhibitions.
